A Message from Our Principal

Happy spring!

The month of March is here and full of fun and exciting events.

Our third quarter ends on March 15, and we will release students at 11:30 a.m. Oh my how quickly this quarter went by! Our spring break is on March 18 through March 22. We will have three early dismissal days on March 6, March 13, and March 27. We will have parent-teacher conferences on March 28 and on March 29. We will dismiss students at 11:30 a.m. on both days. Your student’s teacher will be sending home conference notes soon, so please check backpacks daily. On March 26 we will be celebrating our students at our third quarter awards in our multi-purpose room. The awards for grades 3-5 will begin at 9:00 a.m., and the awards for grades k-2 will begin at 1:00 p.m. We will take our students who have earned perfect attendance for the third quarter to the district auditorium for a movie and popcorn on April 5! Mark your calendar for our Easter break on April 19 through April 22.

The month of March brings the beginning of state assessments. The Arizona state science test for fourth graders will be on March 25 for Mr. Parrish’s class and Ms. Vargas's class. The state science test sets the stage for April. The testing window for AzMERIT testing is on April 1 through April 26. All 3rd through 6th grade students will be taking the state assessment online.

This is the time of year when we all need to be proactive when it comes to the cold and flu season. We encourage students to wash hands, use hand sanitizers, and cover their mouths when they cough. These are all ways the help to keep our students healthy.

With so many events happening this month, be sure and keep the newsletter close and review the important dates often, so you and your student are sure not to miss anything.

Sincerely,

Katy Wilkins
