A Message from Our Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The final month of school is upon us, but there is still so much to do! This is the time of the year when students do not want to miss a day. Testing has come to an end and every class is busy working on different projects and activities at a feverish pace before the end of the year. Our end of the year awards ceremony is set for May 22 at 6:00 p.m. in the district auditorium. All students in grades K-6 will be going to the swimming pool for their end of year pool party!

Please help us close down the school year by turning in all library and school books. Please pay any library fines for lost or damaged books. We would rather have the books back, so look hard for the lost ones.

This week is our final book fair, so make sure you stop by our library to visit and make a purchase. What a great opportunity to support our library and get some good books for summer reading!

A big thank you to all of our teachers! We observe National Teacher Day on May 7 and celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week from May 7 to May 11. Our teachers are an amazing group of professionals who make a difference in the lives of the students at First Avenue Elementary. Join in and show your appreciation!

Review the important dates section of our newsletter daily in order to keep up with the busy final days of the year.

Finally, I want to say thank you for a great 2017-2018 school year. I look forward to seeing parents, guardians, and students at our 2018-2019 school year registration on July 30 and 31.

Sincerely,

Katy Wilkins
